Albert & Estelle van den Berg

Albert and Estelle van den Berg are the owners of Clifton Hill Nursery School.

 

Albert van den Berg was born on the 26th of January 1974 in Hoopstad, South Africa.  During his younger years he attended Rustenburg North Primary School, High Technical School Rustenburg and Matriculated  in 1992 from Vryburg High School.  During his high school days Albert preferred playing cricket and only joined the First Rugby Team in Matric.

Albert started his career as Millwright Apprentice with Iscor in Vanderbijlpark.  He obtained his N5 Certificate in 1994.  During 1993 Albert started playing rugby for Vaal Triangle in his usual position as lock.  He was contracted in 1996 to play for Griqualand West in Kimberley where he also pursued a career in construction whilst employed by HS-Henning Building Contractors.

In 2000 he started playing for the Sharks.  He made his international debut for South Africa on June 12, 1999 in a test match against Italy at EPRFU Stadium in Port Elizabeth. He played for South Africa in the 1999 & 2007 Rugby World Cup. Winner of the Rugby World Cup in 2007 with the Springboks and the Currie Cup in 2008 with the Sharks.  Presently Albert endeavors in property investment and business opportunities hence his involvement with Clifton Hill Nursery School.

Estelle was born in Barkley West and Matriculated in 1990 from High School Vaal River, after which she administrated the family business.  She excelled in bookkeeping, handling debtors and the payroll.  She also played a vital role in maintaining stock and sales in the Nursery.

In 1992 she furthered her career in First National Bank, Kimberley.  By the end of her 8 year term as Credit Analyst she moved with her husband, Albert, to Durban as home-executive and full time mother for their twins.

It is during this time that Estelle pursued home education and realized and underlying passion to educate and develop young children; - hence her initial involvement and eventual ownership of Clifton Hill Nursery School.
